Sale price math
Savings = price × (discount% ÷ 100). Sale price = price − savings, or price × (1 − discount%/100). A 25% discount means you pay 75% of list.
Always compare final checkout totals, not only badge percents. Shipping, taxes, and fees can erase a flashy discount.
Stacked deals
Two discounts applied in sequence multiply remaining shares. Twenty percent off, then ten percent off, leaves 0.8 × 0.9 = 0.72 of the original (28% total off), not 30%. Apply store rules in the order printed on the offer.
Coupons versus percent off
Fixed-amount coupons subtract a flat value; percent discounts scale with price. For mixed carts, calculate each line’s rules separately when policies differ by category.

FAQ — Discount Calculator
- How do I calculate a discount?
- Savings = price × (discount% ÷ 100). Final price = price − savings. 25% off $80 = $20 off → $60.
- What about stacked discounts?
- Apply discounts one after another on the reduced price, not by adding percentages. 20% then 10% off is not 30% off.
